Officer Dan Parnell
Officer Parnell has served in law enforcement for more than 11 years. He is new to CCSD and recently completed new-hire training. He is assigned to ES Zone 7, which serves Mountain Road ES and Arnold Mill ES. Officer Parnell previously served with the Alexandria (Va.) Sheriff’s Office, the City of Charlottesville (Va.) Police Dept. and Kennesaw State University Public Safety Department.
Why did you decide to become a police officer?
I became a police officer to serve the public.
What do you enjoy most about serving in CCSD?
I enjoy serving a diverse population within the CCSD schools.
What is a piece of safety advice for parents to reinforce to their children at home?
The best piece of safety advice I have for parents is to remind their children to “be aware of your surroundings.”
