   Meet our Administration!

Bleisath Family

Dr. Leah Bleisath, Principal

It is with immense pride and heartfelt excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal of Mountain Road Elementary School. When the Cherokee County School Board approved my appointment, it truly felt like coming home. Mountain Road holds a special place in my heart — not only as the foundation of my own educational journey but also as the place where countless cherished memories and lifelong friendships were formed.

As a proud attendee of Mountain Road Elementary, Dean Rusk Middle School, and graduate of Sequoyah High School, I am deeply rooted in the spirit and traditions of Cherokee County. It is an extraordinary honor to now have the opportunity to serve and give back to the very community that helped shape the person and educator I am today.

My career in education spans over two decades, beginning as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional, then moving into an Early Intervention Program teacher at the elementary school level. I spent nine enriching years teaching in various capacities at the middle school level, followed by nine years as an assistant principal at both the middle and elementary levels. These experiences have deepened my belief in the power of strong relationships, high expectations, and a nurturing environment where every child is seen, supported, and challenged to achieve their very best.

Outside of school, I am blessed with a wonderful family who inspires and grounds me. I married my high school friend, Ryan Bleisath, who now proudly serves as a Sergeant with our Cherokee County School Police Department. Together, we are raising three vibrant daughters—Kaitlyn (16), Jocelyn (13), and Tatum (12)—whose busy lives in travel sports keep us always on the go and always grateful.

As we embark on this exciting new chapter together, I am committed to fostering a school culture rooted in positivity, collaboration, and a shared belief in the limitless potential of our students. Together, we will continue to build upon Mountain Road’s proud legacy while embracing new opportunities for growth and innovation. I believe that through strong partnerships among students, families, staff, and the wider community, we can create a learning environment where every child thrives — academically, socially, and emotionally.

I am honored to serve as your principal and look forward to an incredible journey of learning, connection, and Cougar pride!

Mrs. Tiffany Cothern,  Assistant Principal

My journey in education began in 2009 in Fulton County, where I spent five wonderful years in the classroom before returning home to Cherokee County to continue doing what I love!  Over the years, I’ve served in a variety of roles that have deepened my passion for supporting students and building strong communities.  I'm proud to be entering my third year as the Assistant Principal at Mountain Road and I am committed to creating a school environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

I believe in the power of relationships, clear expectations, and a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and challenged to grow. Partnering with families, staff, and the community is at the heart of what I do — together, we create a school culture where students thrive.

Outside of school, I’m married to my best friend, and we share our lives with our sweet black labrador, Harley. We love spending time outdoors and are always up for an adventure — whether it's heading to the mountains or the beach, or cheering on our favorite teams. We’re proud Bulldog and Braves fans and enjoy attending sporting events whenever we can.

I’m honored to be part of the Mountain Road family and excited for the year ahead as we continue to learn, grow, and celebrate every success — big and small — together.  #Cougar Pride
